Welcome to Camp Wedlock!
We are so excited to have you celebrate with us on a weekend that we hope will be as unforgettable to you as it will be for us.
We will be getting married at Camp Fircom on beautiful Gambier Island, British Columbia, Canada, and wanted to give you a little update about what you can expect when you arrive.
We are anticipating it to be hot and sunny, but the venue is on the ocean, so chilly breezes and rainy days are definitely possible.
4 days of the week, our venue is a functioning summer camp, so anticipate bringing casual, comfortable clothes (shorts/t-shirts) and a good pair of outdoorsy shoes (something with a closed toe or some good quality hiking sandals.) We’ll also have access to the beautiful water, so make sure you pack a swim suit, if you’d like to take part.
As the venue is a functional summer camp, we’re excited to present you with a multitude of activities to enjoy at your leisure. These activities include but are not limited to: Archery, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, crafting, hiking, swimming, and any number of field and/or board games.
Food and Beverage Service
We will be providing dinner Friday evening, three square meals on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday morning, alongside endless coffee. Snacks will also be periodically available throughout the day. We will also be providing a cozy half-bar for the day of the wedding.
Otherwise, the weekend will be BYO-what you want.
Important things to note:
Due to BC liquor laws, we can not have any hard-alcohol at the venue, so please do not bring any with you. We also can’t have any glass, so that means no bottles, either.
Everything brought to the island, must be removed from the island by the person who brought it. This means, if you are planning on bringing cans or bags of anything, it is up to you to make sure that your trash is in order when you leave. As such, we don’t recommend you bring cans or bags of anything! If you want a particular treat, please let us know in advance on your RSVP and we will do our best to accommodate. If you are hoping for that niche small batch heavy stout microbrew from a local brewery, we suggest that you find a few other interested parties and obtain a keg to reduce waste.
If you have any questions about weekend food or beverage service, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
